Omniscience

The set of all data derived from reality can be treated as the virtualization of the universe itself, inferring from it can create tremendous value. An automated system with the ability to do so can take all that is known to reduce what is unknown and unknown that we aren't even aware of, the discovery of new ideas and there applications that stem from it are what make the future after a technology singularity unpredictable and promising. A potential approach in developing such a system would be a foundational model that incorporates structured data¹, such an architecture would be similar to a world model, but that doesn't only directly capture the physical one, but a more abstract space that includes human and economic values, it would be, in a metaphysical sense, a virtual representation of the collective unconsciousness in its relation with its approximation of reality itself.

¹Currently, most models are pre-trained for natural language, image, and video inference. However structured data, which includes databases and 2D or higher dimensions of representing data, including those such from domains of knowledge in industry and science, enabling one to infer from much higher-level concepts rather than only inferring the laws of physics, imagine an AI system that can accurately predict a human's DNA sequence just from a portion of it, and also be able to make a prediction on how their life will be and what kind of person they'll be since it can cross-reference it with every other human being that's being trained on or has long-term memory access to it and see the significant choices they've made in their lives, and their external influences.

Just a cool photo I found

On Artifical Intelligence

I want to create as much impact on humanity as I can, and I believe that the best way possible is through developing AI systems. I'm aware that there is currently a lot of hype around it, due to the rapid advances of generative AI. However, beyond speculation, it has affected all of our lives in one way or another. It already influences our thoughts by choosing what we see in our social media feeds, search results, and advertisements through recommendation algorithms, it's being integrated in the executive decisions of some of the largest enterprises in the world, and it has even helped deliver the speeches of world leaders. I imagine I could make an impact in other ways, such as writing a book that has a goal of bringing a unique perspective on life or advocating for legislative policy that's more in line with the current moral trends of society. I have nothing against the humanities. In fact, I believe that they are equally important as technical studies. Without them, humanity may turn out become just the hypothetical gray goo of efficient yet lifeless self-replicating machines. Nevertheless, I believe that I can have the best reach and power with technology, especially in software, since it can virally spread and it can become more valuable for others as the network effect can take place easily due to its virtual nature. The current chances of a god-like AI emerging from the depths of some datacenter are unplausible, but the chance of AI systems reshaping our society has already happened.

Artist's concept from the 1970s of asteroid mining

How Space Affects The Future Economy

In the near future, when we can extract resources from outer space like asteroid mining, we will have access to more than enough to sustain humanity's exponential need for energy. However, the cost of space exploration will create a feeling of artificial scarcity. In the far future, the expansion of the universe will also contribute to the increase in the cost of space exploration. Because the speed of light is constant, yet space expands, we need to develop faster-than-light technologies like the Alcubierre drive, which works by contracting space in front of it and expanding space behind it, making space travel superbly efficient.

Happiness from the Simple Things in Life

The sources of happiness should be sustainable, achievable, and practical. In this way, we could enjoy life without much stress. Buying the newest products, focusing on our social following, and following the latest trends to remain happy takes a lot of energy, time, and money. Compared to more sustainable activities like listening to music, we are walking in the park, spending time with friends, enjoying hobbies, gazing into the sky, and admiring the weather. Finding happiness in such simple things is a peaceful journey towards contentment.

Values in the Age of Information

In the information age, we no longer need to worry about finding information but must focus on finding the right information. So much information is available online, and it can be not easy to know what is true and what is not. We need to be able to identify reliable sources of information, and we need to be able to think critically about the information we find. The information should also be valuable; we should not just passively consume quick content on social media. The information we must learn should contribute to our knowledge, skills, and personal development. We should ensure that the knowledge we gain from the internet should benefit ourselves and others around us, online and offline.

Made with optimism!(▰U▰)
